Job description

A business analyst is a person who analyzes and documents the market environment, processes, or systems of businesses. They help businesses improve their processes, products, services, and software through data analysis and software.

Business analysts (BAs) are responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Bachelor’s degree in business related field of study or equivalent work experience

Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational

Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive

Ability to work independently and with others

Extremely organized with strong time-management skills

Drafting weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance plans

Study the existing system with the aim of understanding the business process and identify the shortcomings

Analyze requirements and document and research components of solutions

Should be a good leader with excellent management skills

Understanding of Risk, End User, Integration, UI, Error/bug • Prototype tools

Create Business Requirements Specification Document

Make the requirements and solutions understandable to both User as well as to the development team

Analyze data related to pricing, logistics, marketing, or manufacturing using statistical modeling to develop insights and solutions.

Utilize a variety of statistical techniques and methods as appropriate.

Synthesize business intelligence to support recommendations for action.

Compile custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, and other stakeholders.

Design experiments using sampling techniques and appropriate research methods.

Plan data collection for special projects and determine the types and sizes of sample groups to be used.

Analyze random control trials in applications that include advertising, healthcare, and sales.

Identify opportunities and solutions to improve business efficiencies.

Use mathematical reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Support marketing, sales, and other leaders in other data-intensive projects, as they arise.
